PS got a new hobby, target shooting. He joined this shooting competition (Nationals daw according to him - world class shooters daw, naks!) in San Pablo, where he met the Action God, Eddie Garcia (whose picture appears below). He got the 44th place (out of 75, not bad pareh!).
PS in action. (O di ba, ibang klase theme ng blog entries ko for the day, puro sports, nice).
Sabe nya, why dont I try it daw? Uhhh... we'll see. :-)

Loving Colors
My brother, Ebu, is on vacation here in the island. I am kind of surprised to see a coloring book in his bag.
He said sometimes even he needs a time out.
Coloring illustrations is a therapy. It's like talking to a shrink. It's almost the same with body scrub and foot spa. The smell of crayola is not actually the same with the scent the burnt incense brings but if you smell it more, you will get to know the resemblance.
It is a form of relaxation, which i am quite sure, is what everybody desires to have every once in a while.
The careful handling of the crayon, the perfect illustration to color, the well-thougt of colors for each shape, the dabbing of cotton in every part finished. Imagination at work.
They are all wonderful, they are all in a quest for perfection and beauty. They take us away from our usual lives. They bring us back to years of childhood and friendships. They give us freedom to think of things we dream about or freedom just to think of simple and little things.
It's fun, it's cute and it's fulfilling. By the time you finished coloring, you would look at it from afar, amazed at how artistic and not-so-artistic you were. You would then turn the page, turn it once more and look for the perfect illustration to color. The feeling of accomplishment running around inside your head. Crayons all scattered on your table while some on the floor...
It took me a while to finish shading the drawing below. I didn't want to finish early, I just wanted to see how it was forming. It was a great feeling, seeing it turning into something, with life, and literally with colors. It was nice. Go get your own coloring book and try something new for a change (instead of watching a movie or playing badmint). This one's fun too.
Get the Picture?

The PS Birthday Parteh That Was
As promised, here goes mah kwento about the PS Birthday Party That Was. As you my beautiful readers all know now, my hanibeyb just turned twenty something last May 23rd. He's a Gemini and I am a Libran. Great combination according to compatibility tests. Lovely.
Anyway, PS and I prepared something for his friends at his shop (ala children's party dahil 4PM ang call time, hehe).
So what's in his Birthday Trolley? Well, my sister Poang-P was kind enough to cook PS's favorite food... spaghetti (and of course, I love to brag about how great my ate's spaghetti is). We also had pizza and ice cream (told you it was for kids).
So there, made some chika chika with his friends and his friends' wives. It was fun and seeing PS happy was really fun. He was telling me the day before that his birthday would just be an ordinary day at work. Well you are so wrong, kiddo. We had a blast really. He was so happy and that's what thrilled me.
To complete the PS Birthday Party That Was, shempre may "kodakan"!
Friends of PS, busog.
Shempre, The Birthday Boy. I gave that shirt (which Banana bought, thanks banana!)
Ehem.
Hayyy, this is life. Love it.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Sunday I Like
Mental Aerobics. Newspaper said that every once in a while, brains must be exercised. How? Read a book, answer a crossword puzzle, an IQ question, etc. etc.
So... I got into reading James Frey's A Million Little Pieces. It's quite a read actually. Frey was the one speaking in the book, sort of his autobio, which I really liked (because i was like invading someone's mind, and you know how much that thrills me). And it was all about how he managed to redeem himself from addiction. Frey gave me a clear picture of what human spirit and dignity were, of what patience was. It was nice. He also said a lot of inspiring and kind of thought-provoking opinions in the book...
Number One. (Talking about God and religion with his shrink). "I thing God is something that people use to avoid reality. I think faith allows people to reject what is right in front of our eyes, which is that this thing, this life, this existence, this consciousness, or whatever word you want to use for it, is all we have, and all we'll ever have. I think People have faith because they want and need to believe in something, whatever that something is, because life can be hard and depressing and brutal if you don't.
Number Two. (He got hooked on the teachings of Tao). "Control by letting go of control, fix your problems by forgetting they're problems. Deal with them and the World and yourself with patience and simplicity and compassion. Let things be, let yourself be, let everything be and acccept it as it is. Nothing more, nothing less, nothing more.
Etc. etc.
(and now, I am reading the life of Mary Magdalen. ;-))
SUNDAY I LIKE! (Shots from the beach with my PS, and our dogs!)
PS with Jack, Jet (my dog!) and Brad.
Sila Ulit...
Brad
Si Jet, 5-month-old GSD, gurlaloo
Hehehe.
End!

The Best Hours
I say the best things happen after work.
7PM.
I have dinner with the pers pamili. Or, if PS and I want to eat somewhere else, I go to his shop and wait for him and have dinner at our friend's resto or at BH or at WD.
8PM.
However, if PS and I dont have plans for the night, after dinner with the pers pamili, I wash up, watch tv and curl up in bed. Or, if PS is at home, we go play with my very cute na cute Jet (whose picture isnt uploaded yet) or watch a movie.
If it's a Wednesday or a Thursday, I will be glued on American Idol. :-) Love Chris and Taylor!
9PM.
Still glued on TV. If it's a Wednesday and Im at home, I will definitely be watching Grey's Anatomy on Star World (right after american idol).
If Im not at home, at this hour, I am munching on Chibu, pasta, tokwat baboy and lot lot more!
10PM.
Tuesday. CSI NY time!
Snack Time!
and sometimes bed time....
So basically, after work, I enjoy life more. Hehe. Mornings and afternoons are spent working, entertaining customers, taking care of the store, etc. etc. Sometimes mornings and afternoons are spent with some mild confrontations from the warlord and the war princess. So, life is really a lot enjoyable after work. :-)
Ganon naman talaga diba? :-)
